Roy Moore Achieves Massive Court Victory for Traditional Marriage
On March 3, 2015, the Alabama Supreme Court agreed to an animous decision and ordering all probate judges in the State of Alabama to not issue any marriage licenses to same sex couples.
The conservative Alabama Supreme Court said in a ruling that the Constitution does not have a barring on the duty of judges to carry out state law.
The Alabama Supreme Court states in their decision that they are following the Alabama Marriage Protection Act which states that marriage is a unique relationship between one man and one woman and that no marriage license will be issued to same sex couples.
Groups like the Alabama Policy Institute and the Alabama Citizens Action Program supports the decision held by the Alabama Supreme Court.
