Later when asked by reporters to respond to Josh Hawley requesting that the murders be declared hate crimes, Biden laughed and said he would do the opposite of what Senator Hawley wanted. Ending the week the White House embraced Trans Day of Visibility, again with no reference to the murdered victims. It seems the Biden Administration is encouraging violence against Christians, " said Delgaudio.

President Biden joked Monday that he only showed up to a White House event because he heard there would be ice cream - before addressing the horrific mass shooting that left six dead at a Nashville elementary school hours earlier.

"My name is Joe Biden. I'm Dr. Jill Biden's husband," the 80-year-old president began his remarks at an East Room gathering of women-owned businesses.

"And I eat Jeni's ice cream - chocolate chip. I came down because I heard there was chocolate chip ice cream," he said.

"By the way, I have a whole refrigerator full upstairs," Biden added at his only scheduled public appearance of the day. "You think I'm kidding? I'm not."

Hawley told TND. "As president, he ought to be out there calling for a full hate crime investigation, he ought to be on the ground comforting these parents, the families of these teachers, he ought to be out there doing something about it rather than eating ice cream and making jokes."

First, it was the ice cream jokes, and now this-two days of laughs from Biden about a horrific school shooting. Fundamentally indecent.

Even liberal GOP presidential candidate Chris Christie responded, as reported by USA TODAY.

Christie picked apart Biden's tone and quips about ice cream before delivering his formal response on the school attack - the nation's 129th mass shooting this year.

"To say that he misunderstood the moment would be an understatement," Christie said on Fox News Monday. "The president is watching, you'd hope before he comes down there, the awful scenes from the shooting and the reactions of family members and friends of people in that school. And to be coming down, joking about the fact that he's Jill Biden's husband and looking for chocolate chip ice cream is hardly the way to start it."
