TRUMP: Conservative Lawyer Ed Martin Departing To Fight Legal Battles for Midterm Elections
President Donald Trump announced that the Department of Justice's (DOJ) pardon attorney, Ed Martin, was leaving to "fight Legal Battles for the upcoming Midterm Election," along with the 2028 presidential election.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump expressed that Martin has "done an incredible job as an Attorney, Director of the Weaponization Working Group" and as the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia." Trump added that Martin would "do an outstanding job" and help to "ensure Free, Fair, and Honest Elections."
"Ed Martin has been with me from the very beginning, and done an incredible job as an Attorney, Director of the Weaponization Working Group, and the United States Attorney for the District of Columbia," Trump wrote. "Ed is now leaving to go outside to fight Legal Battles for the upcoming Midterm Election, and the Presidential Election of 2028."
