Should your bank be allowed to judge your beliefs? Public Advocate says NO

"Public Advocate reposts a few of many previous efforts today to halt the destruction of free speech rights by Social Media giants and ask the SPLC directed Discovery Financial Services be sanctioned for attacking Public Advocate under the current Trump Executive Order, " says Eugene Delgaudio, president of Public Advocate.

Delgaudio says "FRC ACTION President Tony Perkins, who successfully defended themselves from the murderous shooter that tried to shoot Eugene Delgaudio, president of Public Advocate earlier wrote Delgaudio this letter asking Congress to investigate major banks wiping out bank accounts of thousands of Christians and conservatives, Public Advocate joins Tony Perkins in asking Congress to investigage these SPLC controlled banks: (in part) "

"Dear Eugene:

What if your bank decided your religious beliefs were too controversial for you to have an account?

That is no longer just a hypothetical concern.

A new report from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency found that America's nine largest banks maintained policies that restricted financial services based on customers' religious beliefs, political views, or otherwise lawful activities.

Even more troubling, banks referenced designations from the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC), an organization that has labeled Christian and conservative organizations as hate groups.

Family Research Council, FRC Action's sister organization, has experienced banking discrimination firsthand." (end of quote of letter to Delgaudio from Tony Perkins)

DAILY SIGNAL REPORTS:

4 Major Banks Used SPLC in Adverse Decisions Affecting Conservative, Christian Groups, Federal Review Finds

Four of America's largest banks relied on the Southern Poverty Law Center in decisions affecting conservative and religious organizations, according to a newly released federal debanking report.

The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency report, released Wednesday, details instances involving JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, PNC Bank, and TD Bank, all of which referenced the SPLC while denying loans to organizations or closing their accounts. The SPLC's map of hate groups lists some mainstream conservative and Christian groups alongside Klan chapters, due to the groups' views on marriage, immigration, critical race theory, or opposition to radical Islam.

"No American should be locked out of the banking system for being conservative or Christian," House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., told the Daily Signal. "Reports that major financial institutions relied on the Southern Poverty Law Center's politically motivated labels to deny services to conservatives are deeply troubling and demand answers."

Critics have long argued that the SPLC's accusations have real-world consequences-including debanking.

"Most of the time, people are like, 'It's not really happening. You're imagining this,'" Alliance Defending Freedom Senior Counsel Jeremy Tedesco told the Daily Signal in an interview Wednesday. "Now we know definitively that it is happening. It was happening at scale."
